New Edition of BS 4875-1:2007 for Domestic Seating
家用座椅標準BS 4875-1:2007 新版本

British Standards Institution (BSI) has
recently published the new edition ofBS 4875-1:2007

for the safety requirements for strength
and durability of domestic seating. This new
edition came into effect on 31 October, 2007
and together withBS EN 15373:2007(see STR
Furniture News #QA0042007 published in
October 2007),it supersedes BS 4875-1:2001,
which is withdrawn.

?英國標準協會（BSI）最近發布關于家用座椅的強
度及可靠性的安全要求標準BS 4875-1:2007新的
版本。新版本與BS EN 15373:2007（見2007 年
10 月STR 發布的家具新聞#QA0042007）共同于
2007 年10 月31 日生效。

?The major change inBS
4875-1:2007is to specify
the strength and durability
requirements for domestic
seating only, while for nondomestic

(or contract)
seating, the requirements
are to be covered by

BS EN15373:2007.

BS 4875-1:2007的主要變化僅是規定家用座椅的
強度及可靠性的要求，而BS EN 15373:2007是
涵蓋非家用(或租用)座椅的強度及可靠性的要
求。

?Similar to the previous edition, the performance
requirements are verified by tests which reproduce
normal use and common types of misuse to which
seating can be subjected. Five test levels(Table1)

are given, corresponding to the variations in
severity of end-use to be expected for various
types of seating. Samples are tested for applicable
test clauses in accordance with

BS EN 1728:2001
and with Annexes B & C ofBS 4875-1:2007, in
which have included static tests, fatigue tests,
impact tests, drop tests and assessment for
flexibility.

?早前類似的版本，通過反復正常使用及常見類型的濫
用所確定的座椅的測試來驗證性能要求。對應不同類
型座椅所預期的最終用途的強度變化，給出五個測試
水平（表1）。樣品測試適用的條款是根據

BS EN1728: 2001及BS 4875-1:2007附錄 B & C，包括
靜壓測試、疲勞度測試、沖擊測試、跌落測試及撓
度的評估。
