UL588標準對產品定義：

季節性和裝飾性照明用品以及配件都是便攜式插頭連接的臨時性商品
注意！UL588所涉及的范圍不包括水管等和小夜燈；
所謂季節性產品為帶彩色并使人們聯想到某一節日主題的產品，或者被雪覆蓋的物品，穿節日盛裝的人物，以及其他任何與節日或者某一特定季節有關的裝飾物。
UL588覆蓋的范圍：串聯燈串、并聯燈串、裝飾燈、燈串帶套花、雪屋、框架燈、鐵架燈、燭臺燈、閃爍控制器，

亞馬遜對燈串類必須符合UL588認證的原文要求：

2.Sufficient strain relief requirements in sectionsand 15 of UL 588;
3. Overcurrent protection requirements in section 7 of UL 588.
即：1.小導線尺寸 2.拉力測試要求 3.過電流保護 這三項測試。
